Does this count as hacking?

I would say no, as because other people have stated, if it gives you a distance advantage then it's unfair. And I don't know this, as I don't use it myself, but it looks as if it may display crouched players, which is not allowed either.

I can prove this is not the case. :

It only shows them for the same radius as a normal game, just adds a bold line.
If that's what it adds, I still think of this as unfair. In regular, MC with just OF or nutin, nameplates come gray when put behind a block. Which kinda shades it in a bit. When you're running, you aren't going to see the nameplate far off at the edge of your screen. With this, the same view distance still shows an easier way of locating people. I am not sure if this is a reason for this to be a "hack" But I do find this an unfair advantage.

Optifine adds the advantage of seeing names further. If this just puts a old line around it, why shouldn't it be allowed?

Because a regular nameplate can blend in behind blocks to some limits. As seen in his photos, he can clearly see nameplates anywhere around him in the plate view distance. This to me, is still a distinct advantage

Well Tomahawk gets those enhanced nameplates or whatever, and he is a moderator and a YouTuber, so obviously it would be stupid of him to hack, so clearly he thinks it is allowed. Plus, shaders mod is technically allowed on the servers, so, I'm not really sure. But I do agree, this does give a bit of an unfair advantage.

Nope you're wrong, tomahawk just has sharpened name plates however, it doesn't allow him to see them from a farther distance :p, however, this specific shader pack that Derpy uses, seems to increase the name plate view distance a bit, but you never know maybe it's allowed, maybe not :)

Im almost positive that it is considered a form of hacks. Best to remove it and play the game fairly
