I've been wondering if it'd be considered cheating (as in, it is bannable) to use a Mechanical Keyboard on the MCSG servers.

Let's say I program a key to do nothing but Left Click (aka Attack) with each click having a 0.5 second delay between each click. At that speed, that's around the same speed as an average user will click his mouse (actually, it's a bit slower), so now all I have to do is press my keyboard key once, and I will attack for as long as I want, only having to press the key once to start and once more to end, and won't have to click my mouse 20 times. That leaves me with the ability to do nothing but focus on strafing, helping me out.

Or, I program my key to press Good+Click a hundred times, this allows me to, at the start of the game, just rush a chest, press said key once, and just quickly swipe my mouse over every item, and I got all items in a few second from one fast swipe. I can also, if fast enough, open a second chest and take the items someone else was currently grabbing, being able to move much faster as all I have to do is swipe my mouse over an item to retrieve it, instead of swipe, shift+click, and repeat.

Would any of these be considered cheating?

I'ts a pretty tricky question. If you purchase a mechanical keyboard and use it as you said I don't think its against the rules as you purchased it as a 3rd party product. But it could be misguiding and people may accuse you off hacking, thus the risk of getting banned.

If it gives you an advantage over others, then it's bannable.
Well if we're being honest about it, yes it does give an advantage, but do you consider someone have better hardware than you cheating? While you're stuck with a tiny zoom distance running at an unsteady frames, they have a far distance running the game perfectly, it's a huge advantage, nothing cheating though, as all they have is better hardware. Or if someone has better internet than you, never lagging, while you're lagging around, is that cheating? Or someone having Astros/Turtle Beaches/Tritons/whatever headset and being able to hear every sound and detect your location based on sound, while you only have headphones/computer speakers, is that cheating?

Someone having better equipment than you being cheating is honestly a kind of unfair jump.

Not a hack, at least not technically because its not a piece of software. i think you should be able to use a mechanical keyboard, i use a mouse with macro keys and so do many others (thatonetomahawk)

Dunno, but it sounds as though both arguments are very valid. You'll need some staff to answer this I guess. :)

Its like better spritting but instead constent attack, with is even more OP. Even better sprinting mod is a hack i say its the same thing. Which is quite unfair to players without a mechanical keyboard.

I once tested this by setting up a macro for block hitting on Roxbot, while it did blockhit magnificently it wasnt very effective to my pvp, an overall, not fun; which is the main reason I play minecraft.

I would advise you to see if you, morally, would accept this technique, considering it is a form of cheating according to the rules.

If you set macros on your keyboard like clicking, this would be considered cheating because it gives you an unfair advantage, because not everyone has an mechanical Keyboard.
