Welcome to my page
So my name is Art, or metagrosscat, and this is my page. I intend to keep this thorough and genuine, albeit I may fail to update this in the future. Feel free to contact me at [email protected]
My Skins: Optimus Prime, then Amon, then Dovahkiin, then some orange block head, then Deoxys, then (now) the Colossal Titan (AoT)
Although I was born in Ukraine, I've lived in Brooklyn since I was 5, having assimilated with the culture and values.
Minecraft: So back when I was younger, I used to play Runescape, a game which I rather enjoyed, especially for its freedom and flexibility. In fact, at one point when I grew somewhat bored, I went on to make videos using the game as medium and subject. The videos were nothing special, but they drew me into the Runescape community on Youtube. There, I've gotten to interact with some people such as CavemanFilms and SetoSorcerer. When I entered high school, the work load was significantly higher than what I was used to in middle school and I couldn't keep up with playing the game. However, I would instead edit the Wikia page, contributing information where I could or fixing errors. Although I couldn't continue making videos on youtube, I would still watch and appreciate other creators' work. Some time between 2009-10, all the video makers would quit altogether or shift to Minecraft. Being a loyal fan to the people I've worked with, I would watch there Minecraft videos too. At first, I was disinterested, until the Aether mod became popular (beta 1.6). To me, tht mod was one of the greatest thing I have ever seen, never having played Minecraft before, and I decided I needed it. I tried playing Classic, which was what I got after googling "Minecraft demo". Though not at all like the actual game, notwithstanding I rather enjoyed it, being reminiscent of when I'd played with legos, imagining entire adventures from my creation. Soon I discovered that Minecraft could be played offline, but even with that I was not satisfied and I failed to download the Aether (though I probably just had an older version of the game) so I set out to buy the game. Though a bit of an ordeal, I finally got my hands on the game towards the middle of 1.8. I played single player for at least a year, until I saw survival games on youtube and again grew curious, googling for a server. I had found minecraftsurvivalgames, in a few weeks grew rather bored playing Vareide's Survival Games 1 and 2, two absurdly hard maps (seriously, team Vareide, I should not be doing that much work for a stupid tier 1 chest). After growing bored of TSG 1+2, I discovered Skitscape's server, and fell in love with the myriad of maps they offered. I then decided to try to build something in their creative world. I had plans to build a huge skyscraper, but I wanted to first build a basement, but there was tons of dirt. I would sit there breaking dirt block by block (if I had world edit or at least access to TNT, that could have been done in no more than 5 minutes) for almost 2 weeks working every day, perpetually getting kicked for a donor (as Kurt Vonnegut would say, "So it goes.") At long last, I had finally started to build the creation from the ground up. But I come one fine day to my plot to see it wiped and see a dirt shack on it. That did it for me. For months, I wouldn't touch Minecraft.
Some time after my work load from school was done and the IB exams were gladly behind me, my cousin calls me to ask if I wanna play some survival games. Having just finished all my work for high school and with nothing to do, I accepted his offer, and he led me back here. I remember the trauma from TSG2 and sheepishly begin to resign my commitment, but he coaxed me to proceed. To my surprise, the lobby had a new look, with new maps, some (Valleyside) I fell in love with instantly, just because I am excited to start college soon. And so I am here today. My favorite maps are Valleyside University, Holiday resort, Teweran Survival Games 2, and Avaricia.
What I'm like: In high school, I had a very humanitarian education, focusing heavily on literature and history, starting with classics then progressing throughout the periods of humanity, always questioning motives and looking at all sides of a topic. The school body was from a variety of cultures, ethnicity, and beliefs. That is the philosophy that I employ today. I am extremely anti-racism and I am a homophobaphobe (hating homophobes). Although I am an atheist (though somewhat of a Buddhist atheist from my nature, which is helping people when I can), I respect others' beliefs (I am currently reading the Torah and have read many parts of the bible, and will soon read the Qur'an).
Although I may seem like an absolute bore, many have described me as having a great sense of humor. I do like to joke and I do like to laugh, almost as much as hearing others laugh. I try to see humor in any situation, even something controversial, though I keep these to myself, as a mode of consonance for a severe situation (As Gary Paulsen would say, "pluck a rose from the manure.") I don't tread into sensitive territory. Being gregarious, I can distinguish when something is a joke, whether mild or edgy, or sincerely a hurtful comment.

Maybe if we started looking at what's the same instead of always looking at what's different... well, who knows?”
