So, recently my friends have been getting jobs and have been saving up money to buy a computer so that they can play games and start up YouTube channels, which is actually pretty cool. However, with their inexperience in the vast world of custom computers, I have been the one they have turned to for help. When I say "inexperienced" it may be a bit of an understatement for some of my friends. One of my friends actually told me that he was going to get a 90$ computer that will run Battlefield 4 on Ultra 1080P with a solid 100 FPS...I'm not too sure what's wrong with him.

Anyways, enough back story. So, with all of the time I've spent making them PCs to fit their budgets/needs, I've been reminded of a question I've always asked myself when choosing parts: AMD or Nvidia? Probably the second most asked question regarding PC parts, behind only "Intel or AMD?". So, I'll wrap this up to keep things short. Do you prefer AMD cards or Nvidia cards? Explain below so others can get your opinions. :)

As of now, I'm leaning a bit more towards the Nvidia side for some reason. It's not even a bias, I just normally choose Nvidia cards for builds, no idea why.

Here's the basic premise. If you're on a budget, go for AMD products. They're of high quality, and performance, but if you can pay the extra money for an Nvidia or intel product, do it. The extra investment will be worth the slight boost in quality.

I personally have a laptop with an AMD GPU, and it surprisingly gets me a 300+ FPS despite it being a 2-3 year old laptop.

But of course, Nvidia is more optimised for minecraft, it also has slightly more features, and it is a bit expensive but if you can get it, you won't be mad. It runs great.

I agree ^ But DO NOT go with a product that has neither AMD/NVIDIA, trust me, I had a laptop with only a single Intel HD 5500 and it runs HORRIBLY, even by using the more optimised settings!

This is exactly what I tell people when they ask me this. I don't have anything against AMD and they build quality cards that you get what you pay for. Solid cards for the money, to be honest.

I have to go with Nvidia, the reason behind why I'm going to go with Nvidia is because 1. I use Nvidia and 2. my computer doesn't lag.

You'll be even more surprised when you see that my intel hd graphics 4000 can do that too. Well, now that you think about it, minecraft is the only game intel graphics can handle...

I am always to supporting intel for processors and nvidia for graphics cards, because although they are a little more expensive than amd, they provide better quality and performance.

I've also got a HP laptop with Intel HD 4000, it is absolutely amazing! Its impossible for me to get lower than 100 FPS on that LOL
But yeah, the only reason it runs 'good' or 'better' than a Intel HD 5500 alone is because of the second GPU which is AMD. (could also be Nvidia)

I have no experience with either……………:(.
From what I'm seeing I guess it just depends on what the compatibilities are (and some combos of hardware work better than others I think) with it and your computer.
