"Why would I miss what will always be with me" -Snooplez

Question of the Day: Is it narcissistic to quote yourself? Just wondering. :D

Homesick. A game by Lucky Pause. Usually I watch people play games, but this one intrigued me A LOT. There was a lot of symbolism in there, and of course, MIND BLOWING graphics.

But never mind the graphics, let's talk story. From the website:
"Exploring an abandoned building, you are at peace, encountering puzzles and clues, and opening new areas of the building. You seem to have been there so long that direct sunlight is blindingly bright, yet you feel at home. But when you sleep, you are plagued by nightmares, frantically running down hallways chased by darkness, an axe in hand, trying to escape."
That is what Homesick on the surface is about. It's a puzzler, gameplay-wise and theorist-wise but in this thread my evidence is sparse,
In other words: There shall be lots of speculation so correct me please.
I gathered most of my evidence from VintageBeef's LP of it and that wasn't even the full game, I didn't even read all the comments for ideas, but while it's fresh in my mind, let's actually get to it :p (Penalty for my only TL;DR Readers).

When. Where. Who.
There is lots of speculation on who, when, and where this game takes place. It's tough to start, and everything is connected to everything. Who depends on where, when depends on who, etcetera. But here's my thinking. I believe that you are a spirit, a ghost. You are walking around in a boarding school, something like that, and at night, your memories of dark times in the place haunt you. Yeah, that's a pretty big jump. Time to review. In the game, you seem have no avatar, and you walk very slowly, you can't read anything (meaning it's been so long since you read that you can't read anything anymore and that time is referenced in the "direct sunlight is blindingly bright" part of the description) and you can't pick up that said axe. The game is calm, seeming that the worst has past, and now you are just roaming around. But at night, your memories flood back to you. It's almost as if you are reliving the past, and listening to fellow students, announcements and all the while, you are swallowed, in homesickness.

I'm going to cut it short here, this is just a main idea of one of my interpretations of the game, I've barely got evidence so I won't go any farther, but I think I will make a full on attack at this game after reviewing everything, (unless of course, if Game Theory steals it)

TL;DR: You are a ghost wandering around a boarding school you went to ages ago. I will make a better theory (complete man) when I get all my evidence.

Seriously though, help me out!
