OK, so here's my opinion (au servers only). Since the stat reset I have noticed a gradual change in the amount of hackers (more than ever), win boosters/farmers, team sizes and a decline in numbers along with those things. I for one do not play as much because of those factors^ and some of my mates have completely left for those reasons also :/

It has just become too hard for those who wish to play for fun and to meet new people, those that do not particularly care about their ratio's/stats. These people or new players come on to play for a bit of fun rivalry and pvp but I see them get abused, called names and obliterated off spawn by huge teams or hackers :(

I mean who would want to come back to a toxic environment like that^? I try my best to help new players or those not experienced with pvp, familiar with chest routes or just mess around and try and have a laugh about it but it's becoming increasingly harder to do so.

This is by no means an attack on mods/admin, they all do a wonderful job trying to deal with rule breakers etc. The concept of the game is still popular and I believe it will be for a long time, just need to maybe make a few improvements to make the community a little friendlier towards new people or people who aren't as competitive at the game as some. How? unfortunately I do not know :(

The good thing about Minecraft is that is constantly changing. Unlike other games, it is extremely diverse in it's gameplays. Unfortunately, MCGamer has hit a small hole.
Yes, there "seems" to be an increase in hackers.
Yes, there are more people teaming.
And yes, people do get bored of the game.

But we will live. And MCGamer will get better. Already, OCS Team have done marvelously removing a lot of hackers from our server, and there is actually an influx of players joining the server. Although it would be nice to hold on to the old players etc., face the facts. Not everyone has time to play games. But there will always be an MCGamer community who will help you.

Look for me in-game - I will be ur friend :)

Another reset, Hundreds more mods? People suggest the craziest things. However, I believe I have the answer. Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the PvP training programme:

PvP training programme

Have you ever found yourself being constantly bombarded by a hoard of hackers? Are you sick to death of this new era of Minecraft? Fear not! Server like Badlion and such have there plugins, but we have our community. So, I have invented the PvP training programme.

What is this "PvP training programme" you speak of?
Well, It targets X-Hackers and people new to PvP. The aim of this is to basically enhance the PvP skills of the MCSG community. So, lets pretend you were a hacker. and the next time you logged onto MCSG you saw this screen:

You would be pretty annoyed huh? Well, No more! Yes, It is correct that we do not want hackers in the MCSG community, but the PvP training programme Does not just help hacker get better at PvP, new players to. Alright so, after you have been banned you can make your way over to the forums and click on the PvP training sessions tab, Like this:

Then, you would check the upcoming sessions that are hosted by the wonderful volunteer PvP trainers. After signing up, you will be allowed to join the Server again at the time of your session, After your session is complete you will be banned again. You will do this a total of 5 times. So 5 free lessons, then you pay for more. Of course, if you hack during this lesson then you will be permanently banned. You can see how this would appeal to new players to? Good :D

But who would the PvP Trainers be?

People who are on the leaderboards. Of course they would volunteer for the job, and staff can manage applications. This would decrease the number of ban disputes needed to be checked every day :D.

Thanks for reading, And just so you know, I don't expect this to actually feature in MCSG. I just thought I was a nice idea to share :).

Vanth, not sure if you interpreted my reply to this thread correctly? I was not suggesting there be another stat reset (God Forbid) nor "Hundreds more mods".
It was just merely my observations of the current atmosphere on AU sg and some possible reasons for why it seems to be declining in numbers or retaining some of the great new/old players/mods that it does have :)

I can promise you, ingame is still pretty fun, but the community and forums were far better a year ago.
two* years ago ;-;

I don't think MCSG is dying, per se, but it is much different. We need to keep up our player base by adding new things and gamemodes to keep up the competitive PvP style that most people come here to play. I'd love to see a 1v1 server in our near future, as well as an update on Xime, our AntiCheat, and some cool new features like that to keep people interested.

As for the rest, I agree. The community is a lot different, players cycle through generations and I'm sure you, Beardy, have observed this too but this "generation" of players is much more toxic than the previous.

Oh well, guess not everything good lasts forever. I sure do miss the good 'ol days ;-;

A year ago was the clans era I guess? Pretty toxic, but at least people were on the forums
