I'd reccoment revanping an older map, not sure which. If you'd like to submit the map as your own, you need permission from the creator and you need to give credit where it's due.

The perfect map for you to revamp would be the First Survival games map. The one that is literally called "Survival Games". People don't like playing it due to the fact there are literally NO chests. But you could make the tree's taller, build bridges from tree to tree, add more chests etc. etc. There is so much you can do with this map. Hope this helped! :D And remember to give credit where credit is due :)

Hey MCGamer Community,

I'm a builder, in fact I'm an owner of a pretty large build team, anyways, I want to revamp a map. So I need to ask the community 2 questions:
1) Which map should I revamp?
2) Do I need permission from the map maker to revamp it and send it to MCGamer?

Thanks :)

I'd try to revamp old maps that have been removed or are underplayed, however it will be hard to contact some original map makers; yes, you do need permission to revamp maps. Personally, I'd love to see a revamp of Rugged Lands, Lost Mine, or (more recently) Wyvern's Wake.

I don't think any of the original maps could be altered by anyone, as they'd have to get the permission from Variede to do so, which would be difficult.
And since revamps rarely ever reach the servers (unless you're revamping your own map), it's a good idea to start one from scratch instead of altering the work of someone else.

I don't think you should do a revamp. Be creative and original and build your own map because it will look much better than a revamp :)

Can confirm, Team Vaeron are a team which produces high quality content, personal favourite? Flower Paradise. Heck you guys could probably convert that into a map by sticking a dome over it, making a cornucopia and placing chests.

Maybe.. that map is in the process of being sold, so we wouldn't be able to use it. We could make one ourselves, defiantly :)

I would say that Valleyside could use a revamp, but I doubt that it would be allowed since there isn't even a public map download anymore.

Your team's work looks very good; however, I am afraid there may be flaw in your idea.

For one, MCGamer does not accept revamped unless 1 of 2 conditions is met:
1) The original owner of the map creates the revamp.
2) The builder obtains indisputable permission to revamp a map.

Since you haven't produced any maps on the server yet, those options leave you with option 2.

And the problem with option 2 is, any map that you would be able to get the owner's permission to revamp either doesn't need a revamp or has already been revamped.

Let me explain...

The obvious choices for a revamp are Valleyside, SG1, SG2, SG3, Demon's Breeze, etc. (just to name a few), all of which no longer have contactable owners. So, you would be unable to obtain indisputable permission.

I hope I made the situation clear.

I strongly believe that your team could do great things revamping some outdated maps, but I don't see a clear option to revamp that would meet the acceptance requirements.
