I used to obsess over my win/loss ratio, so much it drove me half mad. Find something else on MCSG to take your mind off it. For me, that was joining a clan, Trivium at the time, and becoming staff. Those gave me other reasons to play MCSG, and made it fun in different ways :D
I would apply for mod but since I can't really write 10.000 words and my writing skills are not the greatest, I will obviously get declined once again =D

Seems like clans would be a good option for you then ^_^

I've been in clans for around 1 year now, but since most of my friends quit because MCSG upgraded to 1.8, clans have been going downhill.... ^___^ So what's left? XDD

These issues only bother you if you're playing for wins, virtual numbers that will never mean anything in your real life. People need to stop tryharding and just try to have fun. Ever since the stats reset, I've been mainly doing that, and my former 1/11 went to a 1/6. The moment you stop valuing wins and start treasuring good fights is the moment you start to enjoy the Survival Games.
Regardless of your attitude, getting randomly teamed on is disheartening and frustrating. There are no good fights to 'treasure' if you spend the whole game running away from teams then getting 2v1ed in deathmatch.

Obviously I appreciate that there are certain difficulties to do with implementing solo servers and enforcing the rules, but I don't see any alternative that could possibly make MCSG as fun as it used to be. At the very least it's worth a shot in my opinion.

Sidenote: I also remember clan battle servers been promised a long time ago. Is this still on the agenda? I'd really like for MCSG to pursue the idea as I feel that nurturing the clan side of the community could bring about a lot of growth and allay the widespread disinterest among more experienced players.

I think that randy teaming... is strategy.
Coming from a mod, lmao. You're meant to be making the community better instead of ruining it ffs. Honestly randy-teaming is pathetic and it's one of the reasons I stopped playing MCSG altogether. By randy teaming you're most likely stealing the win from someone who deserved it. If you're that desperate to win games then you know what another strategy is? hacking

If you run out of nerves, I'm sure you could get a transplant a your local hospital for a hefty fee.

^ This is how to enjoy SG if you're sick of the competitive aspect.

Why stress over a game?!
Because games mean different things to different people.

Honestly, take your mindset off play to win, to play to have fun.

Then you'll win more, try new things, do whatever you want, don't even look at your stats.

It's a mindset that will make you feel happier and more accomplished with each game.
