Yea I have a 60 Hertz monitor, but I feel it's just fine. Although I'm not going to be an ignorant and say that anything over 60 Hertz is useless because "people can't see over 60 fps"
If you're like this hardcore gamer then you will see a huge difference between 60 and 80 FPS so 144 FPS would be awesome. But for Minecraft, it really doesn't matter.

Meh.

Overpriced case, also pentium with z97 vs i3 and h97. I highly doubt this guy can overclock very well.

Also, 1866 mhz ram has gone down in price a LOT, and in his price range an SSD doesn't make sense.

That case is great value for the price, the quality of the case means it will last a lot longer than a $20 case.

It's really not that hard to overclock. There's no point spending more money for a sacrifice in performance. If he's competent enough to build a PC overclocking isn't much of a stretch.

RAM speeds really don't matter much at all. Adding an SSD makes perfect sense for almost all budgets.

Now, there's a reason that I don't post on these kind of threads very often. That reason being I'm not very experienced with all of the technical details of PCs, but doesn't Minecraft's performance mainly rely on the processor? I'm not saying the GPU doesn't do anything but I remember reading somewhere that the CPU is the most important part for only Minecraft.

This statement gets tossed around quite a lot and it isn't really true. Minecraft relies on CPU calculations more than most games, but in a huge majority of cases the GPU will be the bottleneck. CPU technology is further ahead than GPU technology, and unless you're running a 980 on an i3 (or a similar combination), the GPU will be holding back the CPU, not the other way around.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. Like I said, I'm not very bright when it comes to actual specifications. I have a very basic knowledge of PCs, which is why I try to avoid replying to threads like this. I'd hate to ruin someone's computer with false information. I'll leave it to you. :p

No problem. Creating good PC builds is pretty difficult in the respect that it's not always about numbers or "how fast something goes". There's also a lot of conflict with it, everyone has a different idea of a "perfect" build, but in reality one will always perform better than the rest.

Actually think about where you are. This is a minecraft forum.

Consider how many people on this forum can even navigate a basic bios.
