Cross breeding in industrial craft 2 is the ability to create hybrids of plants that may also include non organic items. This is a really complicated subject for the most part so I'll try to be a brief as possible by showing an example.
Lets start by attempting to create the strain of Reeds called stickyreed which gives sticky resin and suger cane.
1. Start by getting materials and "seeds" to begin craft Weed-ex, fertilizer, hydrogen cells, and crops (growing racks), Cropnalyzer, and if you're lazy, a Crop-matron.
2. (3x3 cross breeding) Create a 3x3 plot of tilled dirt, clear the middle block and fill with water.
3. Place a 4 crops and the respective plants for your breeding purposes (in this case, cane and cane for stickycane) at the North, South, East, and West positions around the water.
4. Once grown, place two more crops (right click twice) each at the 4 remaining corners of the plot without harvesting the current crops.
5. Allow time to let the crops cross breed into the corners of the plot. Left click the plants once grown and you'll receive two things: The first being the sticky resin and suger cane, the second being a seed bag to replant with.
Extra notes: Fertilize to speed up growing, use weed-ex to kill weeds, and ,after the growing is done, use the Cropnalyzer to give information on what type of plant you have grown.
Warning: Do NOT use to much Weed-ex or you may kill the plants. Also, the result fro m cross breeding are not set in stone, you may get something you never expected.
