Easier way to reduce Minecraft Lag, and a question.

Re download the launcher, try it with out your maps, this should be working, just a question, is it ALL of your sound or just mc?

I had this problem too, Heres what i did:
1 backup your saves folder
2 remove your .minecraft folder
3 remove your launcher
4 redownload the launcher
5 turn your antivirus off (important, it wont let you download the sound files)
6 start minecraft and let it download the files
7 when you are at the title screen, wait abaot 5 minutes, this is when your mc downloads all of the sound files.
8 have fun playing!
