Glitch with skins

Lately, when I join a server, I've noticed that sometimes, I have the default/Steve skin rather than the one I uploaded. This has been happening rather frequently. Does anyone know why this could be happening?

Its just lag, either reboot your minecraft or wait, it will change. Others can see it I think.

Yeah it happens on lots of servers. You personally can't see your skin, but everyone else can.
