I can't send chat messages

Pretty self explainitory, I try to type a chat message and it gives me a message saying that I cannnot send chat message

You mean the /msg command? Maybe a bit more info?

If you have optifine, go into chat settings and make sure that chat is "Shown".

Ingame regular chat is what it is. I try to type a message in the servers and I can't send anything

Okay I found out what it was sorry about this
it wasnt the servers fault it was my settings

if u have the chat settings set to "commands only" it wont work, just set it as "shown". worked for me
