Hi guys, Bic here with a lovely piece of news
The mojang servers are down.
So getting on the servers is impossible at the moment.
Mollstam has tweeted that this could be up to to 24 hours
https://twitter.com/mollstam

Hopefully it won't be this long but....
Anyway please pass this information to anyone you know who comes on the games.

Apologies, the previous posts in this thread have been deleted - we will bringing you official updates with new posts in this thread, to ensure that you are up-to-date on the current situation. It's hard to give official updates and ensure people have seen them when there are many posts in one thread. Editing the first post is not sufficient.

Follow @mollstam on Twitter for the latest updates from Mojang on the auth server status. https://twitter.com/mollstam

There is currently no ETA set for the auth servers being brought back up. The latest from Mollstam is that things are looking up, but there is currently no further information at this time.

Whilst there has been no official update to confirm that the auth servers are back online, flushing your DNS and connecting seems to be working for people.

To flush your DNS on Windows, open the command prompt and type the following:
Code:
ipconfig /flushdns

Confirmed by Mollstam, the main reason why people aren't able to connect at the moment is because the domain hasn't propagated yet.

You can either flush your DNS (see post above) or wait for it to propagate; you should then be able to connect.

To flush DNS on Mac:
Open Terminal and type:

OSX Lion 10.7 and OSX Mountain Lion 10.8:
Code:
sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
OSX 10.5 & 10.6:
Code:
dscacheutil -flushcache
OSX Tiger 10.4:
Code:
lookupd -flushcache
Then press enter.
