My strategy has a flaw.

I get about 7-8 tier 1 chests. But my problem is i only get 1 tier 2. That is only for map 1 though. I the one in the side of the mountain a tier 2 chest? If so how do you actually get in?

Umm.. By the 2 little stone brick buildings, Near there.

Okay, Northwest of the host building. Near 2 stone brick houses the one where you drop down a tunnel theres 2 chests. Ummm. Also it's in the side, Like a hole is chunked out of the mountain.

I think I know the two little stone buildings. And I think one of the 2 chests in there is a tier 2

this must sound stupid to you but what is tier 1 and 2?

Tier 2 chests have better stuff (diamonds, iron ingots, better armor) They are the ones in like the boat in map 1, pink room in map 2. Tier one chests are just the general ones
