Operation Timed Out

Hi all, I'm new here however I've read through pretty much ever connection guide and none have helped.

No matter what server I try to join I get "Failed to connect to the server Operation timed out" error.

Can anyone assist me with this?

Hmm.

First thing I'd try is making sure you have updated java. You can do that here http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp by clicking "Free Java Download". Download that, try to log in, and see how it goes from there.
If that doesn't work, let me know, and I'll check out some other solutions.

I honestly don't know... Try duckluv321 's solution.
If your jar file is modded with some clients that don't work on Multiplayer that might also be a problem. But I'm pretty sure you just need to update java.
