I think you have already done but if not, theres a setting in fraps:

I tooked 145 fps, maybe you tooked 20 fps ?

I took 145 fps and i get 40 fps with lag spikes...

EDIT: My friend had this problem, he updated his fraps and everything was fine.

Dont double post!
,and dont take 145, take something realistic for your pc, a little bit slower, that means for your pc if you run this with 40 fps, took 35 or 30 ( i would preefer 30 )

I get 120 fps when im not recording but so low when i am...

I will try this out, I usually do only 22 fps, and it's so bad that I have to stand still in a sword fight or else I will always lose.

I got optifine, but I still get about the same fps, so maybe I will try some of the other stuff.

FPS++ improves my FPS by adding 20 more FPS. It's really great.
