Just wondering what peoples opinions are on permanent mutes, how many chances do you think someone should get before they are permanently muted? I don't really agree with a mute that's forever, maybe a set amount of time to teach someone a lesson, see if they have learnt to keep their abuse/trash talk to themselves.

Totally for permanent mutes. If someone really keeps doing stuff over and over again until they get to a permanent mute, in my opinion they deserve it. It may sound harsh, however we do have policies here c:

We give people TONS of chances before permanently muting them. For example, in 10 days, I've had been a Mod for one month...so in 20 days time, I've only issued one permanent mute, which was today. They are rare to receive, and if you get one, you really deserve it.

There are rules set and everyone has to follow them just like we do in real life. Personally I've yet to come to a permanent mute for someone, but if people can't listen and change their attitude even after numerous warnings, it's ultimately their choice to take that perm mute upon them.

I understand it can get frustrating, but it's also just chat. I don't think you should ever be banned from speaking forever, ever. Chat isn't the same as hacking, and I feel as though a permanent mute is just an easy way to get out of dealing with a small offense.

I disagree. We give a minimum of 3 warnings (3 mutes basically) before permanently muting someone. If you think that we're playing around when we ask you to stop in terms of mutes, and you think you're immune from permanent punishment; then we're going to permanently punish you. As Moderator's, well at least for me, I hate perma muting people because they've lost all privileges of chat for the rest of their lives on that account, but if you deserve it, then you're going to get it. Just my thoughts, I mean, we all have opinions. :)

yeah but it's just dumb small stuff 4 times and you're permamuted

kind of a big deal if you use the account for clan battles and need to write lineups etc
