After practicing for the last 5 hours, I have been able to take out hackers. You just need to adapt to playing extremely defensively.

No, anything. Those were just examples.

And yes. Switching to your sword actually gives you a disadvantage making your opponent able to get the first hit. Always try to keep your sword out and enter combat with just your sword.

Around sometime today, there was an update that will change PvP forever. I don't know weather if it was a NCP update or if it was 1.7.5, but there was an update that renders fishing rod combos, bow combos, and quick FnS switch useless. I don't know if this is a permanent change but this update has created a different style of PvP to be born. The sword will now be one of the only completely usable weapons. A lot of hits that would normally land, doesn't register anymore. I would like to know more about this. subv3rsion Ava

This same update has already happened to the Hive. Weather this is just temporary or permanent, I suggest we all just try our best to adapt. This is a new thing for all of us and because of this, anyone who understands the technique, will be able to rise in the community as a PvPer.

This is also why I stopped playing Hive a whole lot, The mojang developers did this to fix a "crit glitch" as far as I know, but the mojang developers don't consider the pvp side of minecraft, they think everyone plays survival.
