Fun fact: Out of the top 25 players, I believe around 15 of them have over 100 ping, if not over 90 ping. If you live in the United States and/or most parts of Canada and have functioning internet, you should have no problem playing MCSG. My ping to US is about 75, and people call me out for having OP ping all the time. This goes to show that it is not actually your connection that matters, it is your skill level, and how you play the game.

Unless you're fighting someone with ~10 ping and they have 1.8 misplacement, then you're dead no matter what ;)
and I did say I fight people with 10 ping and frequently :)

Ping barely matters. I love how people say "ping abuser" when Huahwi gets 100 ping to US, and Gravey4rd gets 80 ping to EU.
You just have to adjust to how it changes your gameplay, e.g. bow delay. Your reach is not extended with good ping, rather people with worse ping are more misplaced, making them appear further from enemies than they really are.

Besides, MCGamer uses CubedHost, which is limited on server locations. We can't just pack up and go to Arkansas or something. There is a host in South Carolina, but it isn't big enough to support a server of our size.

This is a first world problem that isn't really a problem at all. There are kids starving on Mineplex! We need to help them!
lol get your facts right Huahwi has 80, Gravey4rd, last time I checked is 20

For meh, yes there is a problem.
Lag is not a problem for me but It is a lot of people's issue.
Getting a better internet connection helps you a lot.

The fun fact is that the players with high ping get more hits and less knockback than a player with normal ping, because of the lag o_O

for one ping honestly gets so many hits its unbelievable, proof being I got new internet and just won like 5 games in a row due to the op hits.

Dude, ping is not everything.
i like you

That was likely the placebo effect, as ping actually has very little effect on gameplay.
You were probably just having a good day :p

Also, I might add that the MCGamer servers are already fairly centralized in the US. The last time I checked, they were located in Phoenix, AZ. This greatly benefits players in the area, which is great. For players living on the east coast, they have the ability to connect to the CA servers if they wish. Good ping for everyone!

Keep in mind that switching locations of the servers would be quite a hassle as well. Not only would it be expensive, but there's a chance that the physical servers could be damaged. On top of that, the datacenter that MCGamer currently uses is widely used by several different services, and is very trustworthy. It's not worth it cost-wise to change the location of the server.

Another thing, you should be lucky that you even get under 200 ping. What about all of the Asian players? They had their servers removed due to funding issues, and there's still a decent amount of them that play (to my knowledge).

Lastly, the players that already get decent ping would complain that the servers were moved further away from them. It's favoring one side of the community and not the other, so I don't think it would be a very efficient decision.

Except for the very middle of the U.S., like Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois...
but even then, I get 75 ping to US and 55 to CA, meaning that I'm in ping zone 2 no matter what. But does it really matter? Ping doesn't affect gameplay much for me.
