Hey guys, I'm a big Minecraft sound person, and dislike playing MCSG without sound. Recently (like a few months ago) my headphones broke, and I've been using some cheap ear phones. But with my birthday coming up, I've been meaning to get new headphones. Which headphones do you guys use? Any recommendations?

Also, if you do, why do you use sound in MCSG? I use it for the increased realism.

If you're talking sound, not headsets, I'd actually recommend Beats. They're really expensive, but the pair I have deliver great sound quality, and they're really comfortable.

I would recommend Bose, Astro A40, Steel Series and if your rich then I would get beats. However Bose is very clear, comfortable and noise cancelling and even though it's expensive it is worth twice as much money :p because it's just that good :p

Those are so overpriced <_<
I have a sony headset, these things have terrific sound quality and cost a good $150 less than beats.

When it comes to beats, it's all about brand messaging. Are they good? Yes. Is there any substantial difference between this and a $60 sony headset? No.

I have 70 dollar headphones that also work as a decent microphone, though I didn't intend on using them that way, so I'm going to get better ones in a few weeks since it's my birthday on July 15th

I consider myself an amateur audiophile, and I despite the sound of the beats. In my opinion the only beats headphones worth getting are the mixr. They sound very similar to the pros, but better built, and cheaper.

Anyway, if you are looking for a well balanced reference pair of headphones, I recommend the Audio-Technica M50's (Around $100). They are nice and cheap and deliver great sound, but lack a bit in the bass department. I would also recommend Sennheiser headphones too, but they are a bit more expensive.

Now if you are a bass-head (Like me) and listen to modern, techno, etc music I recommend the V-moda M80s (The latest model retails for about $125), or the V-Moda M100s (I recommend getting the 1-year old models instead of the new ones because the older model's retail for only $100 on amazon). The M80's are a on-ear headphones and they provide a vibrant balanced sound, yet still maintain a strong pulsing bass, without the muffled sounds that the Beats by Dre's get. On the other hand the M100's have SPECTACULAR bass, but are a bit more lacking in the Highs/mids. (They are also over ear, not on ear).

I find Turtle Beach to be the best audio provider. They have microphones (which are always nice to have) [they are also one of my many strange interests], and they deliver great sound quality. They're not overpriced like Beats and Bose headphones, and they're easy to find, so Turtle Beach is a great option. I use a Turtle Beach Ear Force Z11 headset, and while the sound quality is fantastic, the microphone sucks. But in your case, the sound seems to matter more. However, it's your choice, so I guess I'll stop rambling now.

Which beats? I got the beats pro, noise cancellation, extremely sturdy and extremely Comfy. And the Most expensive..

My frames drop to 2FPS whenever I'm close to moving water or lava. So I can't really use sound :(
