Can't See Players in Unloaded Chunks 1.8

Since I have a low end computer I must play on tiny render distance otherwise I'll get a lot of fps drops. In 1.8 I cant see players in my unloaded chunks which means they have to be extremely close to me for me to be able to see them so it puts me in quite the disadvantage.

If anyone can give me suggestions to fix this issue, it would be much appreciated.

That's actually a fix. You aren't supposed to see people in unloaded chunks, and you could in 1.7 which was fixed. Try making your render distance higher.
