Clicking "Join Server" Freezes the Game For 20 Seconds

This is extremely annoying when you're trying to get into a SG server because they fill up so fast. When you click on the Join Server button in the server list, it freezes the client for 20 seconds before actually attempting to log-in. Is there any way to fix this?

Note: This is not an invariable situation, it happens sometimes and sometimes doesn't.

Remove your bin and server.dat, this will fix the problem. It did for me.
