Deathmatch situation

I was just in a game with my friend and detahmatch came and as soon as we spawned everyone alive just fell in he lava , The first couple sand blocks were already gone. Isthis a bug becasue there is no more deathmatch .

This happens when the 4th player that is left, dies creating 3 players left and instant deathmatch, but the 4th player has to have died when there are less than 60 seconds until force deathmatch, so both timers go out. One right after the other.
