Guys, for all of you guessing. It's never been something as simple as an analysis of the meaning of the painting. Trust me, the painting itself likely has nothing to do with it content-wise.

I'm not going to give too much away because I want a good head start, but research this specific painting and the author. Get to know things about it that could help you in the future.
