Most of the maps have an OP route. For example:

SG2 - Pink House
SG1- Boat
Valleyside - Parking lot/Fountain/Football Field
Fortune Island - Tier 2 Island (An island with like 4 Tier 2's)
Freeze Island - Creeper Eye
Avaricia - There's two Tier 2's right outside of spawn and random, obvious chests are Tier 2
SG4 - The map isn't all that big, but I have a 4 to 6 Tier Two route pretty close to one another.
Breeze Island - With a lack of Tier 2's, this map completely favors teams. Team Chests are both Tier 2.
Holiday Resort - My route has 4 Tier 2's in a small area and there's even better routes I've seen.
Icarus- My route consists of 3 Tier 2's in one building, then two more in close proximity to said building.
Demon's Breeze - Master Sword Island has two Tier Twos and a free iron sword.
Teweran 2 - Teepees have a double Tier 2, two single Tier Twos, one illegal Tier Two, and a free iron axe and bow. Then, in a water cave near Teepees, there's Two more Tier 2's.

I think I covered most of the popular maps. If the staff wants to fix the Tier 2's, they should probably fix these areas.

I just realized on a lot of maps, the mod that decides all the tier 2's often makes one area have a lot more than others. This causes OP chest routes to be created, and only known by a select few people, making it even better most of the time. Sure, sometimes it's advertised, but there are still many strong routes where tier 2's have no reason to be there.

For example, on Rugged Lands there is a cave with 3 very obvious chests in it, but 2 of them are tier 2 and I think there is another one right outside. On that same map, there is also a double chest that you have to climb a mountain (which is quite hard in this case), use your fishing rod to get up a 2 block high jump, and then at the top pull a lever to open up a chest which is still somewhat hard to see. This chest is not worth the long climb, simply because it's tier 1.

I'm not trying to call out any specific person, but I feel like a lot of maps have awful tier 2 placement done to suit who ever is doing it and in other areas of the map it's just hastily done so that tier 2's are there. Once the tier 2's have been determined, can they be double checked so that it's balanced all around the map? I feel like that would improve the system a lot.

Also, sorry if this has offended anyone. I'm not trying to do that, but I made this thread quickly before going to sleep. If anyone is insulted, I can edit it in the morning. I apologize in advance.

With the MCSGv3 update JustAHotDog has retiered the chests for lots of maps including Avarica and SG Highway. I trust that Justin did an exceptional job with the tiering do to the fact he plays so much.

Don't worry guys, when MCSGv3 comes, we'll have it all fixed.

I'd say there's more like 5 tier 2's on Tier 2 island :p

Also there's a ton more around it. :/ My route is really op on that.

OP Chest Route -> More people find out -> Everyone takes that route -> Non-OP Chests get jealous -> The chests fight back -> Tier 1 Chest Revolution

Help prevent a rising up of cruddy tier 1 chests. Fix the routes. Think of the children.

I think having 1 room that everyone knows about being somewhat OP (too OP is always a bad thing, so never more than 2-3 tier 2's I guess) makes it so everyone goes there, which makes getting the chests a challenge anyways, so I think that's fine. But having an OP route, meaning something that takes time to go around the map getting, is worse because it's harder to find the whole thing and less people will know about it.
I don't think I quite explained this as well as I wanted to, but it might have sufficiently gotten the message across.

That's good I guess. Is there an expected time for V3 to come out?

Yes, but most of the chests I mentioned are pretty obvious and do not require parkour to get to. They are also in a small area so it does not take much time to get to.

Exactly, but a lot of people know about them so a lot of people go for them and it's a challenge to get.

Now I'm confused :p Isn't this post supposed to encourage staff to fix the OP areas?
No, OP routes. OP routes are less known, and take longer to get, but are way more OP. OP Areas are well known, so they are easy to get and often less OP. Of course, they shouldn't have like 5 tier 2's, because that's just crazy, but 2-3 tier 2's is decent.
