I actually like all the armor. That way, if you have a guy with full iron in a game, you can match him on even terms. Also, its great when you got no armor and you are able to kill a guy with full iron. As for people teaming at deathmatch to kill the guy in full iron, it sucks, but thats the risk you take.
Have you ever thought about removing iron armor all together and everyone can easily be matched with gold/chain?

I don't know... I personally like the way the armor is matched up as of now. More armor means more variety.

There isn't variety right now. You either have full iron or you don't and can easily be killed. If you removed iron armor, people would WEAR instead of THROW OUT their combinations of gold/chain armor. My side of the argument certainly adds more variety.

While there may be a bit more armor available at the moment, that doesn't automatically ensure more variety. Right now, everybody's main goal is to just get iron gear as fast as possible so that they can win. If you get iron gear, you're pretty much set. Chain and gold just become fuel for the fires. If Iron wasn't as abundant, then we'd be seeing way more variety.

Right on.

Now that I see it your way, I have to agree. I think it should be sort of like you have to craft iron gear, same as diamond.

As someone who recently passed their one year veteran mark AND as someone who recently returned after a LONG break, I agree that it has changed a lot. I don't have a route on quite a few maps, and I feel like a lot of them (Destiny's Shiver, Chernobyl etc) don't add a lot to the server. On the other hand, a few new ones have turned out well (SG Highway, Valleyside) with Valleyside even rivaling the popularity of SG4. I don't really care about the chest system, but I have noticed that I have never, not in my last 300-400 games, had any issue with hunger, which seems a little odd in a server called the SURVIVAL games.
I miss SG Ancient Japan, which I assume was removed while I was away. I also get annoyed that my records sometimes miss a game. But besides all of this, I think MCSG is heading in the right direction. More mods and more servers are put out each day. Also, the decision to make dia donor permanent is awesome.

This is interesting. It would be a nice use for my spare ingots when I already have 5 flint and steel or when I need arrows.

I'd like to point out that I have just about NEVER had hunger problems. Only in my first few games.
