so go here http://digiex.net/minecraft/mcvtool/ and then download it

so this is manly just to shift to old version of the game (1.2.5 included)
if you have downloaded the 1.3 update and you wanna play it you can just chose the minecraft.jar
this is manly just to shift back to 1.2 or even invdev or classic
