So yeah, I've been thinking about buying a new PC and I just want suggestions on what to get; i.e graphics card, intel core, nvidia, things like that. I would like to keep it under $700 excluding monitors, but if needed, I could go up to a grand.

Thanks c:

That's a pretty good build.

I honestly don't know much about my gaming pc, but since it's over 2 years old, I'd think you'd want more updated gaming parts.
I tried to keep to budget. Thats why the lower specs/ older age

Steps:
1. Buy a mac.
2. Open any program with minecraft open.
3. Cry

nope

Why go for the 970 over the 390/390x?

edit: Also, 65 dollar evga psu? no, for that money you can get a seasonic (highest quality psu)

I prefer the gtx 970. Its all based on preference.

That's a really good built, but the 650W Gold+ power supply is a bit overkill unless you are going to upgrade to a 980 etc. As the 970, i5 4690k only needs a 500-600W power supply.
Atm a 650W Gold+ may be overkill but later on he may want to get a more powerful card or do sli.
