Remember back in 2012 playing all throughout summer after watching the first Hunger Games movie when it was released in March? If you were not here in the beta era of MCSG, our first original Survival Games system has revolutionized this art of gameplay. To celebrate the new movie release, Catching Fire, we are bringing back the good old days!
I am pleased to announce the release of our new Survival Games variant called
Survival Games Classic™ (dubbed
SG Classic™ or
SGC on our servers)! This type of SG gameplay is the exact style of our “
MCSGv1” plugin back in June of 2012 during our full release and grand opening of this community. Even the ugly chat format and color themes are back! With this new game style, we are starting off with brand new leaderboards to compete in and the only stat that will carry over is your current points. Just a reminder for players who maybe never experienced the
SG Classic™ era, only 2.5% of your total points are lost on death, games last 60 minutes, and deathmatch starts when 2 tributes remain. Finally like how it was originally in the summer of 2012, only the SG1 and SG2 maps can be selected! (Yes, MCSG only had 2 maps once for an entire summer)
This weekend only for our soft launch, these servers are only available in our US (28 24 slot servers) and EU (28 24 slot servers) locations to start. By next week, we plan to expand to our other locations. The direct connect IPs will be the following:

The servers will also be available for connection in the hub lobby by tomorrow with a hub update. Please note that the MOTD/server statuses will not display via the Minecraft client server list until Sunday. For server statuses, please use the servers page or the signs located in the hub.
As for the normal Minecraft Survival Games servers, we will be exploring new features to celebrate the release of the latest Catching Fire movie. If you have any new feature requests that are based on the newest movie, please make sure to post in the Feature Suggestions forum. Please note that
SG Classic™ may not change much due to us preserving the original gameplay.
