Iron sword ro flint and steel?

I personally would make an iron sword. I rarely use flint and steel.

I've gotten pretty decent with Flint & Steel so I'm going to have to say Flint and Steel considering that you can use it to kill others who have an iron sword

(My personal opinion)
Iron sword does 6 damages. If you’re hitting with an iron sword the same time as your opponent with a stone sword, you will most likely win (If they have same protection). If you’re making flint and steel, you have to use it effectively, otherwise you will just waste them. Therefore, it depends on your skills with iron sword and flint and steel…

It really depends on the map and the person. Like, let's say that we were playing on Solar Frost, you would most likely choose the sword because there are less places to place the Flint and Steel. If you were on Valleyside or something you would most likely choose the Flint and Steel because almost every block you can place a flint and steel. Also if you can get them on fire, it disorients the person. Hope I helped!

When I have a stone sword -> Flint and steel,
When I have a wood sword or below -> Iron Sword.

Well honestly for me this would have to depend on the situation. If there was a team of two or more near by I would automatically craft a FNS. Usually if I have 2 iron I will craft the sword and on the way to the crafting table I look through tier 1s for iron. Even if you get the fns it does 3 and 1/2 hearts of damage whereas an iron sword would do 1 extra heart than a stone sword. Therefore, in most cases I would craft the iron sword.
