i think you are overreacting, that map is awesome built and there's no reason you hate it, except that you suck at it, and the lag is only your own fault, the framerate on a server doesn't change from map to map so DEAL with it!

I've been think of getting optfire but I'm getting a mac soon I think.

Optifine still works on a Mac! My primary computer is a Mac, I use optifine on it still
Helps you see farther (big bonus for hunting people) and reduce lag, if there is any on the magnificent Mac.
Though sometimes Optifine gets messy on the servers and makes your framerate=0 for a couple of seconds, always at the worst time.
