At least it isn't like 1.6 which just completely nerfed PvP mechanics...

I meant that there will be a fast style of PVP with similar mechanics to BSM being added into 1.7

So, how exactly will this update affect PvP, particularly with the fishing rod?

It won't change anything, being able to hit people with a fishing rod has always been a bukkit thing.

In the whole of minecraft it is rather small. In a game like this it's rather big feature.

I hate the new sprint toggle. I tried the hive with BSM and found it not as exciting. I'm kinda bummed. :C
