I have played the survival games for a while now (on a few different servers), and I feel like I have learned enough to pass on my knowledge to you guys out there. So here are a few strategies.

1.) Spiteful Shadow- Pick a player, preferrably a powerful one because they have more valuable stuff. Follow them from the very beginning. If you have to, lurk in the outskirts of the corn waiting for someone ideal. Once your target is acquired, make yourself their shadow. Stalk them from the trees, crouching so they can't see your nametag. If they stop to craft or investigate a chest, strike with ruthless blows. Of course, there is a possibility that someone is stalking you too, so never lower your guard.

2.) Lone Wolf- This strategy can pack some real power. Ignore the corn like nothing else and find an area with tier-2 chests nearby. This will be your territory. Finding places like this can be tough but rewarding. Once your territory is set, watch the perimeter like a cat watches a fat mouse. If you see anyone coming, KILL THEM. This is your turf, not theirs. Never leave your outpost, or someone might sneak in and raid your tier-2 chests. Once night comes, you will be a bit more powerful, and the chests around you will refill. Get what you can, then return to your watchtower of sorts to keep guard through the night. Come the time for deathmatch, you will be a Minecraftian juggernaut, stocked up on the spoils of invading tributes and the stuff from your territory.

3.) Kill 'em with Kindness- This one is rarely used, but can be good. Find a point like the top of a jungle tree that is surrounded by other trees. It helps if you have some worthwile stuff in your inventory. If someone tries to climb to you, throw something down as a 'peace offering'. Chances are that they will swandive to get the extra loot, taking fall damage in the process. Repeat until the victim is dead, then climb down and get their stuff. If enough tributes try to get you, then you can wipe them out one by one - with your kindness. :)

More to come!

Although #3 made me laugh, I had a hard time imagining this working in a real game situation. Names of strategies were pretty legit though.

While these tactics don't seem very effective you don't have to be so negative, the strategies section is opinion-based, there is no ground breaking tactic that is better than all the others, be a little more respectful.

First tactic isn't that bad, but its more effective in the late game, don't stalk someone around the whole game, it is only going to get you killed.

Disagree with the second one, sometimes the point of getting corn refill is not to get more gear but instead to prevent other players from getting it.

Third tactic could prove to be effective on a stacked player who doesn't know what he is doing, similar to luring someone up to a high height and knocking them off.

Yeah, the main reason I go to corn is to not let others get it, so e.g. teams won't get op and I will.
Tbh, i might do the third one. Lure them in and fishing rod them/bow them off.

Never thought about number 3, and I think that could be really helpful on SG2 :D
