Simply jump up and down, while continuously shifting, and face up, while hitting the air.

That is indeed true, we never know what could happen, however, it would be entirely up to the other person whether they want to try and face the hacker alone or not. But I do think it should be for a very short time, and so they are not so quick enough to get to you. Also, it could be encouraged to keep a distance from others, because truces don't always last so long.
But there could be an alternative, so if hypothetically speaking, you come across another player while being chased by an illegitimate individual, you can look straight up and hit the air, although it isn't always so effective, and has its risks, it could be something that could work.
