So, over time MCGamer has made some good map decisions like Valleyside and Par 72 but, there are some terrible decisions they've made too. I've been a player on this community since you could vote for SG 1 or SG 2. There were no other maps. Then new ones started to come out and they were amazing! I miss those old maps... They were defiantly better than a lot of maps from today. Lets look over some maps that us old timers loved when they were playable and still love today. I'll start with Memory of Earth. That map wasn't the greatest but it was still a cool concept. This map I'm not gonna go to far into detail for but its worth mentioning. Another one, what happened with Destiny Shivers??? That map was such an amazing build and concept. It had great chest placements and route and gave people fair advantages. Not only that but it was a clean mix between great landscaping and great PvP areas. I loved this map a lot. It was just so cool! Next we have the iconic mix of two similarish maps. We have Rugged Lands and Fortress Pyke. They weren't super similar but to me they had the same feel. I like Plantations but mostly because it seems to be a cross between the two. Almost like a wannabe. Either way, the split originals were great and I know a lot of people hated to see Fortress Pyke go... Now its time for a map that was a CA exclusive for about 3 months before the full removal, Freeze Island. Yes, the iced over landscape of the famous Breeze Island. It served as an amazing PvP map (for those who like ice PvP) and it had great balanced routes at every direction. This was a classic spin to Breeze Island. In my opinion, it was better than Demons Breeze but, I like them both still. Now for the one I think everyone was waiting to see on this list. I saved the best for last. The one, the only...Wyverns Wake! Yes! Wyverns Wake, one of the most famous and popular MCSG maps until it was removed due to OP items... Why was this map removed for OP items and Valleyside had the items removed and stayed on the server. Wyverns Wake was the best map in my opinion but I think everyone else agrees with my for the most part. I would love to see this map comeback and I know there is a download for the map without the OP items. This map NEEDS to comeback! It was an amazing layout! Crosses between biomes. Amazing builds of dragons specified for the biome they were located in great chest placements and routes. Amazing structures, amazing landscaping, and best of all...a perfect amount of flat space for some great PvP to happen. This was my all-time favorite map by far.
EDIT: I forgot about Moonlight Lake and Vida Cova! If I remember more I'll add them. If you know some then let me know!
I feel like adding these maps back will give MCSG the old feeling to the servers once again by being able to play on these retro maps. I'd really like to see these maps added back. I think it'd be in the best interest of the community. The old time players would love it and the newer players would like it because the maps would be new to them. Make sure you vote on the maps you want to see back the most and lets hope that MCGamer notices this and brings back the maps we know and love!!!
