Hello. :3

I haven't been able to play 1.7 yet, as I am an AU player and they haven't updated. For all the US/EU etc. players I wanted to know if the Rod tactic is still useful, because of the new sprint update. I was wondering if I should quit using it, and start using more of a strafe/flint & steel tactic more often.

What makes you think that? The past 3 days I've been hitting players with fishing rods with no problems whatsoever...

Oh okay, well maybe the Bukkit plugin has updated since when you last played? At the moment you can hit players with a fishing rod.

Fishing rods are still useful, or at least for the stun. I've actually found it to be more useful since the 1.7 update, since some people just run straight into a fight, thinking they are invincible since they have the 1.7 sprint.

The fishing rod was not because of a bukkit plugin, but the actual craftbukkit server software itself. I hav no idea what DJ kitty is on about, fishing rod technique should be able to be used since the actual Minecraft update has nothing to do with this. Whoever started the rumour is, like darkrai said, a special one.
