And also, they didnt know a year was 365.25 days so if it were to end tommorow, it still would have ended 7 months ago.

The mayan calender doesn't use leap years because it doesn't use years at all. They counted the days, including the extra day in leap years, and came to the 21 december.

But why even go on about it when it isn't going to end anyway?
