Yeah, I believe this is a good idea.
I suppose that they can follow the lines of
how maps are picked from Black Ops.

You can only choose the same map twice in a row and can only pick the other available map or a random button (considering that there will be more than 2 maps).

How could a voting session cause problems if it went on for the whole time you are in the lobby? I think about 5 minutes is good.

im going to submit this post to the plugin developer and see if he will add it
