Yeah I'm getting the 2.2, getting the 7.1 didn't seem worth it to me. Do I need this battery charge thingy?

No, You need to plug it into an adapter and everything. Also the one difference is the surround sound, You need a special kind of Sound card to run the 7.1, But the 2.2 is great for me.
