That's kind of rude to say, especially considering he was saying it in a casual/joking way and had a decent point with the random threads.

About ping, it depends on the situation. If you have decent, below 100 ping it really should't matter. Better ping won't really matter too much at this stage if you're a good PvPer.
If you have bad ping, especially 200+, then it would definitely matter as that's when the hits don't register and you have trouble PvPing properly. Thus ping is needed to PvP in a playable manner that wouldn't drive you to near insanity.

That doesn't relate to his post at all. You have been making a lot of threads recently, but when people say that, take it as you are just active.

Anyway, ping can help a lot during fights occasionally, but if you are an average, tactical player, you should easily manage to take out someone with decent ping. People say that ping helps to make players reach further, and if that is true, it would help a lot, but it's not. If you can manage to FnS them, and use the fishing rod properly, it should be a fair fight.
