I remember when I started playing, me and my friend ended up in the same game. I died immediately to mobs, after spending 5 minutes crouch walk stalking people in the woods area around the SG2 cornucopia saying "I'm gonna stalk that guy." (my first game is what's represented in my avatar, actually) and spectated my friend as he got further than I did. I thought that only swords did extra damage, period, so, being on skype, I proceeded to laughing at him for using a wood axe instead of his fists.
Only later did I learn that wood axes ARE better than fists.

Also another thing to clarify, a full set of chain mail is better than a full set of gold, by about 1 armour bar. I'm pretty sure this is due to the chain mail helmet and chain mail chestplate each having half a bar more than their golf counterparts.

It doesnt help.
Minimum damage CANNOT be negated from fists, as it is always the same.

Another thing, so many people dont know that gold, chain and Iron helms are all the same

That is false. Gold helmets protect 1/2 a shield less than chain helmets and iron helmets. Both chain and iron have the same armor values.

Gold and chain armour have the same protection, apart from chain pants, which give half a point more protection than gold pants.

Chain armour also has better durability, so it is a better choice than gold armour. The only legit reason to ever want gold armour is because it looks a lot nice than chain.

Today I fought a team of 2, both of which had Diamond Swords and Full iron, I had the same (Diamond Helmet) and charged at them, they attacked, I set BOTH on fire and killed them both. But if you charge at a Full Iron, Diamond sword kid, and all you have is a wood sword, that I will call a noobish move.
