How to Make a Custom Channel on Teamspeak
Hello friends! So recently we enabled the use of custom channels for people on our Teamspeak. As of now Platinum, Quantum, Map Makers and VIP members can make these custom channels for their own personal use. With this said, all MCGamer rules apply, and if you would like to read a little bit on the specific rules of the custom channels, visit the thread made by Yannick at the bottom of this guide or simply go onto our Teamspeak (ts.mcgamer.net) and click on the “Rules” header at the very bottom of the Teamspeak.
How to Make One:
- First step is to make sure you have a Teamspeak rank of Platinum or higher. If you have your rank in game but have yet to receive it on our Teamspeak, connect to the server and poke a member of staff and we will be happy to give you your rank.
Next scroll all the way to the bottom of our Teamspeak until you see a header that looks like this...
- Next right click on either of those heads and click “Create Channel”. Next you need to setup your channel to your liking. The name of your channel can be anything you want as long as it remains appropriate. You can use tags, such as [DND], or [Poke to Join] in your title if you do not want to be disturbed.
- Next is setting up your password. This is important if you do not want users to join your channel. It’s as simply as filling in the password of your choice.
- Topics and descriptions are next. You can set these to let people outside of the channel know what you are doing, or leave them blank if you would like. Just be sure that these are appropriate.
- So next it’s time to set up your audio configuration. This step is very important so you don’t sound like a robot talking to you friends. The audio should be good to go by default but just in case it is not, make sure the codec is set to “Opus Voice” and the presents is set to “Voice Desktop”
- Then click ok! And that’s it, you’re done. Just share the password with who you want and they can join.
So congratulations, you have just created a custom channel for you to enjoy with your friends or just yourself.
Important Notes:
Please keep in mind that when making these custom channels that all MCGamer rules apply and if these rules are broken you may be subject to punishment. You can check out the rules here. http://www.mcgamer.net/threads/custom-channels.242742/ .
- If you are alone in a custom channel and have been AFK for more than 30 minutes to an hour the channel will be deleted by a member of staff and you will be moved to the entrance hall.
- If your channel contains an inappropriate name, the channel will be deleted, and you may be subject to punishment.
-If you intend to play music (Music Bot) be sure that the channel is password protected.
So that’s it! You can now enjoy your very own custom Teamspeak channel. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a post on this thread or DM a member of staff and we will be happy to help you out!
