Someone posted something similar on the Discord as well, so I figured I would copy my response here too:

While I don't know the details, I do know that our XAC system was built with many integrations within our server and gamemode system. Turning it off would be less like a lightswitch and more like removing a carburetor from your car's engine (which is an intensive process that requires removing your car's engine block). Given the amount of work necessary for that to be done on our system, it might not be worth the effort all things considered.

I don't think anyone would protest if we had a select few servers where people could just go hog wild. But realistically speaking given the circumstances, it is unfortunately unlikely to happen.
