Ever since May 17, 2014, clans have battled it out to prove their dominance over the US and climb the Clan Leaderboards. There have been many close fought battles, great clans have disbanded, and others have risen to prominence. Now, the 8 clans who have reached the top are going to be put to the toughest test they have faced yet: a tournament to determine what is truly the best clan in the US.
The tournament will be held in two phases, beginning with a round robin and then continuing into the playoffs. The round robin will include every clan in the top 8 of the US Clan Leaderboards playing one match against each other (these battles will be a best of 5 - First to 3 wins). The top 6 clans after the round robin phase will advance to the playoffs, with the bottom two clans being eliminated. The remaining clans will be arranged in a direct elimination bracket, with their positions determined by the number of wins they received during the round robin phase (the top two clans will receive a first round bye). In the case of a tie during this transition, a first to 3 battle will be held to determine who advances. The playoff matches themselves will be first to 5 battles, with the winner advancing and the loser being eliminated. The final battle will be a first to 7 showdown between the top two clans in the US.
The teams will be the top 8 teams from the US Clan Leaderboards. For the purpose of the tournament, the clans will be as follows, along with their respective rankings:
Group 1:
1 - Elevate - ScrewYouGumby2 - 3 Wins: 0 Losses
2 - Protocol - Protocol - 2 Wins: 1 Loss
3 - Trivium - Branbob83 - 1 Win: 2 Losses
4 -Samurai - Fireblare 0 Wins: 3 Losses
Group 2:
1 - Rebels - Maxypie - 3 Wins: 0 Losses
2 - Eternity - NativeTalent - 2 Wins: 1 Loss
3 - Valor - SertifiedBlocks - 1 Wins: 2 Losses
4 - Vortex - VortexClan - Forfeited [Disbanded]
What's on the line for this tournament, you might be asking? Why is it worth our time to compete? Well, besides from the bragging rights of being able to say you're the #1 clan in the US, there will be an $80 cash prize for the winning team. That's right, 80 dollars. That's enough to buy diamond donor, or to get iron donor for your entire battle roster. If you prove you're the #1 clan in the US, you'll receive the money through PayPal, to spend as you please.
1. All rules on the US Clan Leaderboards apply. This includes no using banned items
2. All battles will be 8v8 and will occur at a time chosen by the tournament staff.
3. If anyone is found to be interfering with a battle either through playing on an MCAlt, DDOSing either of the participating teams, or in any other way that disrupts the battle, their clan will be punished; depending on the situation, they may be removed from the Clan Leaderboards.
4. If you have any issue with the rules, another clan, or the results of a battle, bring it directly to the staff.
5. Excessive flame will not be tolerated.
6. Only CCS staff may watch battles. If no CCS staff are able to watch a battle then US Clan Leaderboards Staff may referee the battle.
7. The decisions of the tournament staff are final.
8. These rules are subject to change at any time.
