I think it would have been an alright rank, but there would've needed to be a bit more thought put into the allocation of the rank, which was a big problem and one of the reasons why it was removed (among many others like Chad not wanting the rank).

If it were kept strictly to former staff members and perhaps very good friends of the senior staff/administration (not just any friend like what basically ended up happening with friend), it would've worked out. There's a period of review for staff members who resign as to whether or not they get Platinum for their services to the network- if they added more or less the same thing to Friend rank, it would've been fine, as it would've made sure that only people who deserved the rank ended up getting it.

To me, Friend rank would be a way of saying thank you to former staff members who made the network a better place for everyone (should there be no outstanding circumstances surrounding a staff member's removal from the team) and a way of acknowledging close friends of the higher staff who make so much on our network possible.

I think Friend Rank was alright. However, as always, whenever MCGamer does something wrong, they find it easier to remove it completely than try fixing it. The whole Friend Rank situation could of been fixed differently.

Personally, I think Friend Rank should of been dealt like VIP. I feel that there should of been certain requirements to achieve it:
Be a staff member for a year, or report 1000 members. Something which really shows that you did help out by a mile.

What kind of changes?
The way the old friend rank worked, you could get it for simply being friends with the Sr. Staff. In my opinion, this isn't a fair way to give it out. Additionally, I feel it needs to have strict requirements. For example, it should be given to staff who resign if they actively moderated for at least 3 months. Finally, I'd like to see it come with the same perks as platinum.

Only 3 months? Same perks as platinum? You really want VIP, don't you.

I mean mods have more perks than platinum.
Because moderator is higher than VIP. Friend was a mix between gold donor and platinum. You had pets, /fly, but 3 votes. Though, 3 votes isn't bad... I don't ever see myself in need of having 5 votes. And for getting kicked, you really won't get kicked.
