But that doesn't change the fact that a kicking perk says "Since you care so much about supporting these servers so that not everyone has to pay, we'll give you the ability to eject people that don't pay! Thanks for donating."
Donations don't entitle you to anything. That's not what they are for. Just call them memberships and state that full service is for members only. Saying you're a donor - and that just happens to give you the only guaranteed play time - is misleading.
I don't understand what's the problem, that it's misleading? Donors (Memberships) keep the servers running as they are not free so unfortunately we are not going to change the system.

I've already said these aren't really servers designed to have any other perks function well. If anything, that core design flaw is the only real "problem."

Why would I pay more to play on a particular server - or at least to guarantee play - than I did for Minecraft as a game? Doesn't make any sense. Donors shouldn't be entitled to playing, as that's just not how donation works. The current system is purchasing memberships. I don't think I could just walk into a SA shelter and boot someone out because I've donated. Kicking is a donor right at the moment, not a gift. If you have money, you can boot others less valuable to your servers.

There's this thing very common on planet earth. It's called business, a specialized person or business performs and act, and some places, such as here need the funding to support it. If you can think of a way to have an infrastructure this large and not give people these donating options, go ahead, I'd like to see you succeed, although it won't happen.
This isn't just a server or website, it's a business, deal with it.

Plus, people with more money always have power over people without, that's reality, get a grip on it.

But you're /donating/ donating inherently implies charity in which you don't expect return incentive. Doing so is backhanded.

If we don't call them donors and call them memberships will that fix the problem? Non-donors are not less valuable to MCSG just because they don't pay, everyone is treated equally in this community. If there is no perk for memberships, why would people be willing to pay? As mentioned before this is a business, to keep this server up and running we need people to buy memberships.

People can donate to a service without receiving any special perks. Heck, if the product is good enough, I don't see why they wouldn't. Changing the status from donor to member would be perfectly fine, really.

They can but the number willing to is lower than the people that want perks. So just call them memberships instead of donor since you believe it's misleading.

Worrying about people failing to donate without being given goodies show a lack of faith in your product.
And a realistic view of people, haha.
Alright, donors = members, non-donors = guests. Simple enough.

Unfortunately that is the world, people don't want to pay unless they get something in return.

Actually, being smart about joining makes a HUGE difference. I got kicked maybe twice last week. And I played a few hours each day. Heck, I joined US 2 during the evening on a live stream! I don't even need donor perks, and I would like to save my money so I'm not going to purchase donor.

End rant.

But thanks for not hating donors!

Ew.... kits.
No.
Nonoononoonono.
In my opinion, it should stay how it is. It was quite easy for me to get into servers as a non-donor anyways, even when there were only US servers xD
