Alright, so I’ve posted this in the Community Corner as it doesn’t really fit into one particular game mode, I would also appreciate some feedback from the community.

Let’s start with the Forums.

Make a rule against Micro-posting.

Why you might ask? There is just to many post boosting going around, when a new clan is created people simply type GL or good luck, this doesn’t add anything, if you’d really like to wish them good luck you could at least take the time to write some encouraging words with it. On other thread I’ve seen people simply writing a smiley when I reported it and it got deleted they justified it for being something positive and the post was put back. Ridiculous. The point I’m trying to get across that if they’d been serious with their post they would take the time to write a bit more, IMO most of the 1-2 word posts are only for post boosting.

Make a rule against having things with the requirement to like the thread etc.

Even though this isn’t a common problem I feel this should be a rule, it simply isn’t right to having to like the thread as a requirement for, for example to join a clan or a giveaway.

Have a certain group of moderators being able to inflict warning points on the forums.

Punishment isn’t common on the forums, people can just break the rules over and over again without being really punished except for having their rule breaking post getting deleted. I suggest giving the options for moderators to “apply” for forum moderator, they will as well with the higher-up staff be able to inflict warning points, of-course they will have to be trained for this.

Create a ban “panel” for Teamspeak.

Now, first off I’d like to say this is just an idea, I’m not entirely sure if this is possible but it would be great if it could be implemented.

People who break the rules on the Teamspeak will be banned for a certain period of time, although after they’ve sit out their ban they can just login to Teamspeak again under a different name and break the same rule again, without receiving a more severe punishment for breaking the rules multiple times ( since you can’t tell since they’ve got a different name ).

Now, I’d suggest to create a ban panel just like Xime for the Teamspeak, When a name is put in a bot will check the IP of user, and show their previous punishments, all the punishments will go through the panel, and the bot will automatically perform the punishments. This way it’s possible to create an easy to manage history of all the punishments on user, and people will be punished more severely for breaking the rules multiple times.

The hub is boring.

The current hub is boring and there is nothing to explore. I’m aware it was supposed to have no secrets/parcours at all so people would join games more often instead of hanging out in the Hub.

This takes away the community feel of a server. If it’s fun to be around in the hub, people will socialise more, friends will be created and people will also be going on the server just to talk with other people. While new players come onto the server and they look at the amazing hub with a lot of secrets and parcours they’ll feel the urge to explore, while doing so they’ll see people talking, they join into the conversation and will be immediately be more attracted towards the server.

Now I could go on about this for a long time, but I think I’ve got the point across already.

*NEW*

alright, I thought up a few more suggestions...

Make events for BOTH regions.

This is something which I'm a little bit irritated by. However I can understand that the staff is having a rough time with their meetings and such, it's simply unfair towards EU to have so many events being held on US on times which EU are usually asleep ( 12 PM+ ). Eitherway have the event be held at a time which EU could participate aswell, or have the event being held on both regions. I'm aware CA&AU are being left out here, but those regions simply don't have the population for big scale events.

Have a reward system for playing games.

Just like H1Z1 people should get a loot bag after finishing the game depending on how well they did. This would also be the only way to earn MCGamer credits in-game, I also feel this would increase the popularity of other gamemodes.
For example:
Winner of the game : Diamond Loot Bag
2-3 : Gold Loot Bag
4-6 : Iron Loot Bag
7-120 : Coal Loot Bag

The bags would contain random loot having some of the following :
  • Random amount of MCGamer credits ( Not too much, you would actually need to play a bunch of games to be able to buy something )
  • Block hats for non-PvP gamemodes
I currently do not know anymore possible rewards but feel free to suggest some.

---------

I currently do not have any more suggestions, but feel free to put your own in the comments, if I feel it’s worthy to be implemented I’ll add it to the thread.

I agree with you on most terms, especially the TeamSpeak one!
It's so annoying to have to try my hardest to get a moderator on when the person is rule-breaking & when I finally do it, they can just bypass the ban.
But the reason they don't want to have any IP thing is because hackers/ddosers (and I just heard this so don't take my word for it) can easily get a hold of someone's IP.
I suggest, instead of having people apply for forum moderator, we just have the regular mods do it.

Not all the moderators are actually active on the forums or are willing to moderate them, I personally feel like if they can apply for it you will create a more dedicate team.

Also, I didn't really think about someone stealing someone's IP, I'll leave that one for the Devs :p

For the TS ban panel thing, that already exists. There is a list of active bans available through the Teamspeak for the Sr. mods and above. I used it for some ban disputes, or to edit a ban from another moderator.

I'm aware this exists for sr. Mods and above, but if I'm correct most bans are performed by moderators who do not have acces to this panel.

I couldn't agree more with everything said here. In fact, if this forum staff position were to be implemented, I'd like to see it even go as far as giving moderators temporary ban powers, similar to how it's done on Teamspeak.

One thing I'd really like to see is some form of encouragement to get our moderators to use the forums more and interact with the community. I see too many moderators nowadays who only use the forums for report abuses, and don't go around helping by locking threads, enforcing minor rules like double posting (in fact, I've seen multiple moderators even double posting themselves because they don't use the forums enough to have a full grip on the rules and customs) and spend time replying to threads interacting with the community.

That last suggestion may just be because I'm very active within the community myself, but we should work on getting mods to do more than just banning people

Yeah I agree with all of this, I also think they ould add some more ways to get MCGamer Credits? I mean right now it's pointless, maybe make it so if you win a game you earn some like in Mineplex.

Hahaha you hit the nail on the head with micro posting. The first 3 pages of a new clan thread is literally "good luck."

Yeah the in-game community is pretty lackluster. Especially since most of the chat is spam and with the switch to 1.8 it's been worse.

Parkour in the hub is pretty generic not saying its bad or anything it's just been done to death. Also the fact that donors can fly really makes it useless. I'd really like to see a king of the hill/ladder game implement in the hub that would be pretty unique.
