Hello! I'm starting to pick parts for my computer. My friend said he gets 300+ FPS on Far with these parts. Do you think it's a good build?

Parts:
GPU - 160$ - EVGA GeForce GTX650Ti Boost 2GB
CPU - 120$ - Intel i3 3220 Dual Core Processor
Ram: 70$ - Corsair Vengeance 8 GB (2 x 4 GB)
Motherboard - 60$ - MSI LGA1155/Intel B75/DDR3/SATA3 USB 3.0 A&GbE/MicroATX Motherboard
Hard Drive - 67$ - WD Blue Desktop Hard Drive (1 TB)
Power - 50$ - Corsair Builder Series CX 500
Case - 54$ - NZXT Source 210 ELITE

If you can find better parts for under 750$ (budget not including mouse, keyboard, etc.) that would be great, thanks!

Only thing I would change is the GPU get a 7770 or a 7790 your choice price to performance AMD destroyes nVidia and as for processor a AMD 4130 would be better.

Change the processor from an Intel I3 to an Intel I7 4770k, your friend may get 300+ FPS on Minecraft with that however I guarantee that will struggle on lots of games. If you can afford to I would also change the NVIDIA GTX 650 to a NVIDIA GTX 680. You will not get much for $750, it will in the end be a waste of your money. In maybe a years time those parts will be quite outdated (especially the processor) and you'll want to buy another computer to keep up with the latest games. Save that extra amount of money to add the parts I've suggested and you'll be set for around 3 years.

I'd upgrade to an i5 if you can, no point in going all the way to i7. An i5 3570K might be a good choice.

First off, what's your budget?

Second, is this only for Minecraft, or do you wanna play other games form Steam and other such as Crysis, BF3, Bioshock?

That's a really good build if your going to use it for mostly minecraft. It's not gonna run other games like bf3 on ultra settings though.

Potatoes work fine.
But seriously, I'd suggest getting an i5 processor, i3s won't get you very far.
