That has to do with SG3's size more than the fact that it doesn't have buildings.
Buildings tend to create hotspots, and SG3 lacks buildings, therefore spreading a lot of members out creating the boring gameplay. But yes, the size of the map also does add to it's boringness, as it gives players a place to spread out to.

Yeah, that's the thing. Solar Frost barely has any builds but it's size creates hot spots.

If SG1/SG3 were excepted with barely any structures. What makes you think yours won't c:

Although it would be preferable. c:
By the way, a lot are two separate words. c:
By the way, you would use the word "accepted" in your original message :3

To answer the thread's question, most maps nowadays are purely PVP based with a TON of buildings, structures, etc.
I think that to get a map into MCSG, you're going to have to work towards making a smaller map with lots of buidlings. Sorry bud! Although it is a pattern of which maps are getting accepted in nowadays, if your map looks AMAZING with awesome terraforming, it probably has a pretty good chance of getting in. Keep on working on it and hope for the best!!

It really depends how you go about it, if the terraforming is insanely good I don't see why it shouldn't be accepted. Just make sure to have a decent theme to it that goes along with the terraforming so the terraforming pretty much replaces buildings in a way. Also, just add at least a few landmarks.

What makes a good map?!?
- Lots of Terraforming
- Decent amount of buildings with different shapes, not like Fallen Haven.
- Secrets, traps, redstone.
- Good Chest Layout
- A way to tell where the Cornucopia is.
- A Cornucopia which is easy to escape, no narrow roads.
- A Cornucopia which is decorated beautifully.
- Not a lot of water.
- In MY Opinion: Double Chests 5% of the Map? Single Chests 95% of the map.
